Limited to 300 pairs, the Atalante Grande Réserve is Revival Audio’s most refined loudspeaker yet, combining French craftsmanship, advanced driver technology, and high-end components throughout.

Revival Audio has launched a new flagship model called the Atalante Grande Réserve. The “Grande Réserve” designation is considered the highest seal of quality in French tradition, particularly when it comes to cognac and champagne, and is traditionally reserved for the rarest and finest products. In this case, it concerns a limited edition of 300 units worldwide.

Building on the existing Atalante 7 Evo, Revival Audio ‘s Atalante Grande Réserve promises listeners benchmark-setting performance thanks to a new RASC Evo tweeter and midrange driver, a redesigned 12-inch BSC Grande Réserve woofer, and a StrataBaffle baffle. According to the brand, these are complemented by components from Mundorf, WBT, and van den Hul Skyline.

Revival Audio Atalante Grande Réserve: housing

The 710 x 420 x 355mm (H x W x D) enclosure in a smoked oak finish features enhanced internal bracing and what Revival calls a StrataBaffIe multi-layer front baffle. This 25mm thick, sixkg three-layer construction features solid oak with a CDF core and an MDF back. This sandwich construction is said to be precision beveled to reduce diffraction and increase stiffness, resulting in a more refined soundstage, according to the manufacturer.

On the rear of the enclosure are two AeroVex bass ports, derived from the Atalante 7 Evo. Revival Audio claims this dual rear bass port system delivers seamless airflow and a natural, extended low-frequency response, while reducing port noise by over 94 percent.

Finally, the optional, specially designed wooden stand is reinforced by a die-cast metal structure, guaranteeing a perfect balance between damping and rigidity. According to the manufacturer, the micro-adjustable spikes and the decoupling design between the speakers and the stands enhance stability and vibration dampening.

The RASC Evo tweeter has a diameter of 28 millimeters and, according to the French company, is based on patented ARID technology, just like the midrange driver. A custom-made Tetoron tweeter dome with a refined coating ensures a smoother response, without fatigue, and with natural high-frequency reproduction. Furthermore, the pure aluminum voice coil enhances detail and precision with ultra-low inductance. This is combined with an anti-resonance inner dome that, according to the designers, absorbs over 97% of internal resonance, which is further controlled by an aluminum rear chamber. Finally, the neodymium magnet system is said to deliver a +5 dB sensitivity, improving dynamics, efficiency, and control, and a vented rear baffle and diffuser guarantee optimal airflow.

The midrange driver has a three-inch diameter and shares many of the tweeter’s technical features, including ARID technology, a vented backplate, and a neodymium magnet system that reportedly provides a robust motor with a high BL value. This increases sensitivity and control, enabling a dynamic and expressive midrange with effortless projection. The dome’s dual suspension system is designed to ensure linear movement across all frequencies, reducing distortion and enhancing clarity and articulation. The copper-clad aluminum wire and shorting ring are designed to reduce distortion and improve microdynamics.

Revival Audio Atalante Grande Réserve: woofer

The newly developed 12-inch BSC (Basalt Sandwich Construction) Grande Réserve woofer features an extended linear excursion of 10 mm and a high rim with an X-max of approximately 12 mm. The specifications further mention a 36 mm Y35 magnet, a 2.55-inch four-layer voice coil with thicker wire, and a black anodized aluminum coil former for improved cooling and long-term stability. All this promises clear, distortion-free dynamics with absolute control.

The crossover frequencies are 400 Hz and 2 kHz. The filter features Mundorf Supreme components, and the speaker cable is connected to WBT speaker terminals, along with patented capacitors and coils, and oversized inductors designed for natural, undistorted sound and a distinctive tonal balance. All of this is connected via Van den Hul Skyline’s in-house wiring.

Revival Audio specifies a frequency response of 26 Hz to 24 kHz (-6 dB), a sensitivity of 89 dB (2.83 Volts/1 meter) and a nominal impedance of four Ohms.

The Revival Audio Atalante Grande Réserve is limited to 300 units worldwide
