BL has announced an anniversary edition of its existing JBL L100 Classic. The L100 Classic 80 will be released next month in a limited edition of 800 pairs, marking the brand’s 80th anniversary.

The JBL L100 Classic 80 is a reinterpretation of the original L100 design from the 1970s, combining the familiar look with more modern materials and technology. The model was re-released in 2018 and has been very popular ever since, according to the manufacturer. An anniversary edition was released in 2021 to celebrate JBL’s 75th anniversary . For those who missed that edition, there is now a new anniversary version to celebrate the 80th anniversary. The MkII version of the JBL L100 Classic was released in the fall of 2023 .
The JBL L100 Classic 80 features a natural oak veneer cabinet and a brown Quadrex foam grille with a gold and black JBL logo. Visual details include a 12-inch woofer with a black cone, a black satin frame around the front baffle, and anniversary plaques on the front and back of each speaker.



The three-way speaker features a front-firing bass reflex port and features a 12-inch woofer with a cast, pure pulp cone, a 5.25-inch midrange driver with a polymer-coated, pure pulp cone, and a 1-inch titanium dome tweeter with JBL’s acoustic lens-shaped waveguide. Front panel controls allow adjustment of the mid- and high-frequency levels. The speaker has a rated impedance of four ohms and is equipped with dual speaker terminals.
Production of the JBL L100 Classic 80 is limited to 800 matched pairs worldwide. Each pair comes with an individually numbered plaque signed by the chief engineer, JS-150 speaker stands, and a special wooden case.
The JBL L100 Classic 80 will be available for delivery starting in February 2026.
