The Pedestal is the brand-new isolation foot from Wilson Audio’s Special Application Engineering (WASAE) division. The Pedestal reduces musically disruptive vibrations in components with unparalleled efficiency. The small element on the underside partially absorbs vibrations originating from the surface beneath the device. The damping material in the Pedestal, our proprietary V-Material, provides the next step in vibration reduction.

V-Material was developed by American loudspeaker manufacturer Wilson Audio. Along with another patented damping material in the Pedestal, it acts as a spring to minimize vibration, absorbing it and converting it into heat. While other manufacturers use cheap, low-quality magnetic steel in their isolation feet, the Pedestal uses austenitic (non-magnetic) stainless steel, which exhibits superior vibration-damping properties and effectively eliminates unwanted electronic component interactions caused by magnetizable steel.

When weight is applied to the Pedestal, the internal V-Material element, along with the other critical components within the enclosure, is decoupled from the stainless steel exterior. In the opposite direction, from the component downward, any vibrations caused by environmental factors or the audio system itself are transmitted to the Pedestal’s upper cushion, where they are absorbed. The Pedestal is WASAE’s solution for near-absolute vibration isolation.
The damping material in the base of the plinth, the so-called “V-material,” provides the next step in vibration reduction. The V-material works in conjunction with a patented damping material in the plinth like a spring to minimize, absorb, and convert vibrations into heat.
The Wilson Audio Pedestal feet come in sets of three and are available for three different weight classes.
