TANGZU OXDemon King: Big Open-Back Planar Sound
TANGZU OXDemon King: Big Open-Back Planar Sound

The TANGZU OXDemon King is Tangzu’s bold entrance into the world of full-size headphones—and it doesn’t knock politely. This is the brand’s first over-ear model, and it arrives swinging with a massive open-back planar design aimed straight at serious listeners who crave scale, speed, and long, immersive listening sessions.

The design is based on a large planar magnetic driver with a thin, highly stable diaphragm and precisely matched magnetic arrays.

Big planar energy

At the heart of the OXDemon King sits an 85 mm planar magnetic driver with an ultra-thin, high-stability diaphragm and precisely aligned magnetic arrays. The result is classic planar magic: lightning-fast response, evenly distributed drive force across the entire surface, and distortion that stays in check even when you turn the volume knob north.

The open-back architecture lets the sound breathe, delivering an expansive, room-like soundstage with natural depth and effortless spatial cues. These are headphones made for getting lost in albums, not just hearing them.

Tangzu didn’t cut corners on construction. The frame and structural components are CNC-machined aluminum, shaped on 5-axis machines with tight tolerances for long-term stability. Everything is symmetrical and carefully balanced—from the hinges to the headband geometry—so the weight feels evenly distributed rather than fatiguing.

Despite the solid metal build, the OXDemon King is clearly designed with comfort in mind. The genuine leather ear pads and headband are made to hold their shape over time and remain comfortable during marathon sessions. Better still, they’re tool-free and user-replaceable, making maintenance and fit adjustments refreshingly simple.

The OXDemon King features a detachable cable system, opening the door to alternative terminations and balanced setups. Tangzu includes its HUN TIE GUN balanced cable with a 4.4 mm plug, making the headphones an easy match for both portable and desktop amplifiers while ensuring a clean, stable signal path.

For a debut full-size headphone, the TANGZU OXDemon King feels remarkably assured. It blends big planar drivers, open-back freedom, premium materials, and practical design choices into a package that looks and feels purpose-built for audiophiles.
