Audio-Technica has unveiled a new limited edition headphone called the ATH-WP900SE. According to the manufacturer, the headphones are designed for listeners who appreciate both artistry and performance. The design draws inspiration from the world of guitars, featuring an iconic tricolor sunburst finish as an ode to the timeless beauty of classical instruments.
Dynamic over-ear headphones with closed ear cups

Inspired by the ATH-WP900, each piece is meticulously crafted in collaboration with the renowned Japanese guitar manufacturer Fujigen, ensuring that every detail—from wood selection to the final finish—meets the rigorous standards of quality and visual depth that characterize both brands.

The heart of the headphones is a newly designed 53-millimeter diameter driver, combined with an advanced voice coil designed to improve linearity and deliver high-resolution sound across the entire frequency range. The earcups are made of solid ash wood, and the natural wood grain is visible. The specified frequency range extends from 5 Hz to 50 kHz, which is well beyond the range of human hearing. The result is not only beautiful to look at but, above all, a listening experience that reveals the fine contours of every note and brings acoustic performances vividly to life with clarity, warmth, and precision.

The ATH™WP900SE offers a balance between premium sound and everyday ease of use, while remaining lightweight and portable, making it ideal for enjoying authentic hi-fi quality audio on the go. For uncompromising signal integrity, the headphones utilize Audio-Technica's A2DC detachable connectors, ensuring stable transmission and minimal noise. The dual-ended cables provide improved sound separation between the left and right channels, with both balanced 4.4mm and standard 3.5mm versions included as standard. The specified impedance is a friendly 37 Ohms and the weight is approximately 235 grams, without the cable.
To complete the premium experience, each limited edition model comes with a special Fujigen cleaning cloth exclusively designed for lacquered finishes, along with a card featuring a handwritten serial number, making each piece a unique collector's item.

With decades of expertise in designing wooden headphones, dating back to 1996, Audio-Technica continues to explore how natural materials can influence sound. The ATH™WP900SE pays even more homage to this philosophy by combining refined design and acoustic innovation in a headphone that sounds just as expressive as it looks.
The ATH-WP900SE will be available from June 11, 2026, for a recommended retail price of just under $700.
