Leema Acoustics has announced two new integrated amplifiers. The i85 is an amplifier with exclusively analog signal processing. The iD85 also features a digital-to-analog converter. Both units are part of the new 100 series. Photos and technical information are still somewhat scarce, but we’d like to share the available information with our readers.

Importer GVR Audio Import has already listed the new amplifiers on its price list, but photos are still few and far between.
The Leema Acoustics i85 features four RCA inputs, a turntable input suitable for MM cartridges, a subwoofer output, a preamp output, and an output for connecting to a recording device. The i85 operates in Class AB. As the model designation suggests, the i85 can deliver 85 watts per channel into eight ohms.
The power supply is based on a large toroidal transformer with 27,000 uF of smoothing capacitance per channel. The volume control is analog, and a separate headphone amplifier is also reportedly included. The i85 has a suggested retail price of just under €2,000.
The iD85 has everything the i85 has with the addition of a DAC, which is powered by a separate power line, and of course digital inputs, i.e. 2 x coaxial RCA, 2 x optical and an asynchronous USB-B input. At the heart of the DAC is an ESS Sabre 9028Q2M DAC chip. The XMOS USB receiver (type XU208) can process digital signals up to a resolution of 32-bit/384 kHz. The suggested retail price of the iD85 is just under $2,500.
