With a variety of features and connections, Topping’s D70 PRO will fit into the vast majority of audio systems, offering a variety of usage and installation options. On the input side, the device offers AES/EBU, coaxial SPDIF, optical Toslink and USB.
At the output we find balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA. The D70 PRO allows you to select an output to send the audio stream to just one or both at the same time.
Additionally, the 4V XLR and 2V RCA outputs can be amplified to 5V XLR and 2.5V RCA.
The D70 Pro has a new color screen, as well as 3 control buttons for more convenient use. Moreover, this screen can display some information (FTT and VU) according to your needs and desires.
The D70 Pro is equipped with a new converter to achieve perfection in audio reproduction. This circuit allows for very low distortion and noise levels.
The D70 PRO also functions as a preamplifier as it has a volume control. However, this volume control can be disabled to allow the D70 Pro to be used as a DAC only, with output levels constantly at maximum, i.e. 4Vrms for XLR output and 2Vrms for RCA output.
ESS’s ES 9039SPro DAC chip is the brand’s current flagship, delivering efficient and accurate decoding. This chip achieves THD+N below 0.00008% @ 1Khz and 128 dB dynamic range on RCA output, and THD+N 0.00006% @ 1Khz and 133 dB dynamic range on XLR output.
Moreover, these chips support high sampling rates, allowing you to enjoy PCM files up to 32-bit 768 kHz and DSD up to DSD512 Native.
