The new Topping A50 III headphone amplifier is a compact, high-performance device. It retains the features of its predecessor, but adds improvements such as a three-level gain control and a balanced input on a 6.35mm TRS jack. The amplifier circuit uses the NCFA (Nested Feedback Composite Amplifier) module to provide exceptional performance. In addition, the A50 III’s maximum output power is 2x 3500 mW – a significant headroom that allows it to work without problems with many headphones on the market, including models with 300 Ohm impedance.
The A50 III’s output power allows use of headphones with impedances ranging from 32 to 300 ohms. In fact, it can deliver up to 2x 3500 mW of power @ 32 ohms and up to 2x 760 mW of power @ 300 ohms, all with a THD < 0.01%.
The A50 III’s rear panel features an RCA input and a balanced stereo input on a 6.35mm TRS jack. Added to this is a 12-volt trigger, allowing it to be paired with other devices for simultaneous ignition. Its connectivity makes it the perfect ally for Topping’s D50 III DAC.
The A50 III features a CNC machined aluminum chassis for aesthetic appeal and durability. The aluminum housing also helps dissipate heat efficiently from the A50 III’s amplifier stage.
