The new model of digital-to-analog converter SMSL D400 PRO is built on a combination of the AK4191 decoder and the AK4499EX converter , which are a top-end solution from the Japanese company Asahi Kasei .
The model has all the necessary inputs for a digital signal, namely optical and coaxial, HDMI for I2S format, AES/EBU and USB-B. The latter is served by the XMOS XU316 processor , which allows you to send a 32-bit / 768 kHz PCM stream and a native DSD512 stream to the DAC. It also claims full support for MQA files , including MQA-CD. At the output of the DAC side there are 7 digital filters for PCM signals, allowing you to customize the sound to your taste.
Analog outputs are unbalanced on RCA connectors and balanced on XLR. The device has a Bluetooth adapter that supports LDAC, aptX HD and AAC codecs . The model is equipped with a remote control; with dimensions of 254 x 189 x 46 mm, the DAC weighs 1.9 kg .
