The SMSL D300 is an affordable and very powerful DAC based on a high-end conversion chip from ROHM . The latter provides superior parameters for sound reproduction that is as rich as it is precise. The entire circuit and components used are expected to produce very beautiful sound reproduction. The device is also very versatile, with a full range of connections that will be able to adapt to the vast majority of hi-fi systems.
ROHM BD34301EV DAC
The new D300 uses the ROHM BD34301EKV DAC chip, a true flagship of the brand. It provides THD+N -116 dB and sound restitution with high transparency. It also supports high-resolution audio streams.
XMOS XU-208 USB Interface
The D300’s USB-B input integrates a 32-bit XMOS XU-208 chip. It allows you to decode USB audio streams and provides good audio fidelity. Combined with the ROHM DAC, it allows the D300 to read high-resolution streams up to 32-bit 768 kHz PCM and native DSD512.
CK-03 Clock processing unit new design
The D300 also integrates a completely new CK-03 clock processing circuit. The goal of this circuit is to achieve increasingly lower jitter levels. In particular, it ensures that the coaxial and optical inputs have the same low jitter as the USB input.
The SMSL DAC’s built-in shielding
takes advantage of shielding the low-noise power stage. This process effectively limits interference and noise to produce clear and accurate sound.
Low consumption
The D300 power supply is also optimized for low power consumption. It uses low noise discrete components.
Bluetooth 5.0
Featuring a Qualcomm receiver chip and antenna, the D300 supports Bluetooth 5.0 so it can connect to your connected devices such as your smartphone for convenient remote streaming. It also supports aptX, aptX HD and LDAC high definition codecs.
