Musician Pegasus bills itself as a superb and very powerful DAC that takes advantage of its neat R2R architecture. Integrating the best of modern technologies, the device benefits from a low noise power supply, FIFO buffer, FPGA signal processing and FIR filter. Thus, the device is capable of decoding very high sample rates, up to 32-bit PCM 1536 kHz and DSD1024 through its USB and I2S inputs. The USB interface is controlled using an STM32F446 MCU with a Thesycon driver. The entire unit is integrated into a massive aluminum housing.
Musician Pegasus provides you with most of the connections found in modern HiFi devices. Thus we find on the input USB-B, I2S via HDMI LVDS, AES/EBU, Toslink Optics and Coaxial. The device offers unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR output, the latter output is definitely recommended to use to unlock the full potential of the device.
