After 4 years of research and technical accumulation, the new X-Sabre DAC was born. Matrix X-Sabre 3 is a high-end DAC, perfectly optimized and intelligently designed, offering exceptional performance, especially intuitive use and clear and rich sound reproduction. Connectivity is also evolving: the X-Sabre 3 is fully connected, turning into a DAC and network player.
The entire design of the X-Sabre 3 has been changed from previous generations. From the exterior design to the interior architecture, every detail has been updated and improved. In terms of form factor, the X-Sabre 3 is 10mm wider and 2mm lower, giving it a sleeker look.
X-Sabre 3 features a completely new user interface. Added high resolution LCD screen to clearly display device status. When you stream a song, the album art is displayed. The body design inherits clean lines with an improved interface for intuitive use.
The DAC hides dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi antennas behind its large glass front panel. They allow the X-Sabre 3 to receive high-speed network signals. If used in an area with poor wireless coverage, you can also connect the DAC to Gigabit Ethernet for optimal stability, especially for high-resolution audio files.
X-Sabre 3 is Roon Ready certified. This means it can easily connect to Roon, without any prior setup, to enjoy perfect Roon playback. With the Roon app, you can control playback, volume and sleep. Using software or an application that supports UPnP or DLNA, you can stream audio files at the original sample rate over the X-Sabre 3’s network connection.
X-Sabre 3 is the brand’s first model to include Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect. This means you can search for music in the Tidal and Spotify apps and select the X-Sabre 3 as your playback device. Playback and volume levels can be controlled directly through these apps. The AirPlay protocol is another way to stream music in high quality.
The integration of streaming features makes the X-Sabre 3 more flexible and easy to use. You can turn on the device directly from your smartphone or from the network. The standard trigger port allows the connected amplifier to be automatically turned on and off along with the X-Sabre 3.
The X-Sabre 3’s digital processing is extremely powerful. Fast processing and high clock speeds mean that high-frequency noise from a digital system can interfere with audio sections. To maintain high performance audio circuitry, Matrix uses a fully isolated design. The digital circuit is completely separate from the D/A conversion stage and the analog stage. Both parts are placed in independent cavities.
