According to a new report from Japan’s Nikkei Asia, Apple will launch MacBook production in Vietnam next May.

The company has been assembling AirPods in Vietnam for two years now. Last year, the iPad and Apple Watch were added.

Apple is exploring new markets to diversify production and reduce dependence on China. So, in the event of a sudden quarantine at the plant, the company will not face a shortage of devices, but simply redistribute capacity – and everyone will remain with new devices.

Apple has been working on moving MacBook production to Vietnam for two years, sources say. This is much more difficult as the devices and components themselves are larger.

Also next year, Apple plans to increase iPhone production in India. Part of the production of AirPods and Beats headphones will also be transferred to this country.
