Advance Paris PlayStream A5 is an integrated amplifier with a built-in streamer. The basis is a high-quality network amplifier structure and the integration of exclusive components. The highlight here is clearly the built-in digital-to-analog converters, which are specially designed and optimized for high-quality audio reproduction. The WM8740 and AK4113 are excellent converters for the Playstream A5. The emphasis on producing authentic sound of the highest quality also shows in the amplification: the PlayStream A5 is based on a Class AB amplifier design and implements 2 x 130 into 4 ohms.
Advance Paris Playstream A5 integrates Ethernet and Wi-Fi network player, including many services such as Spotify, Deezer, Qobuz, Tidal, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, vTuner, Napster, etc., allowing you to play music over the network from your music library stored on your smartphone, tablet, computer, or network drive such as NAS (Synology). DLNA compatible. Of course, high resolution file formats are also supported and processed. The device also has an FM and DAB+ tuner.
Both in the digital part (Digital DAB+ tuner, FM tuner, 3 optical, coaxial and USB) and in the analogue part, the Advance Paris Playstream A5 is very communicative – it has 6 analogue inputs, including a configurable phono input. Thanks to the Bluetooth-compatible X-FTB01 and new X-FTB02 receivers (supporting high-definition HD APTX), the Advance Paris Playstream A5 amplifier can be connected via Bluetooth, and thanks to the implementation of the High-Bias function in the first watts of power, the amplifier provides a “tube” sound during operation in class A.
The company’s philosophy of combining two worlds continues in the design of the new Advance Paris Playstream A5. Between the two normally backlit VU meters on the front panel, a high-resolution display makes it easy to operate the all-in-one unit.
