Danish electronics and lifestyle brand Bang & Olufsen has announced the Beoplay H100. The Beoplay H100 is the new flagship of the company’s fleet of headphones. According to the designers, the new Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H100 builds on its predecessor, the Beoplay H95, and promises improvements in several areas, including sound quality, noise cancellation, design and construction. Buyers can choose from three colors.
The Beoplay H100 from Bang & Olufsen (B&O) features custom-made drivers with a 40-millimetre titanium diaphragm. Inspired by the brand’s Beolab speakers, the H100 aims to deliver an immersive audio experience that rivals high-end speakers. The headphones feature advanced noise cancellation technology, which performs twice as well as the H95 to improve sound clarity in noisy environments. They also feature new EarSense technology, which adapts audio output to the unique shape of the listener’s ear in real time.
Modular construction
Designed for both comfort and style, Beoplay H100 features a modular construction that makes components such as the inner headband, ear cushions, batteries and drivers easy to replace and maintain. This design supports Bang & Olufsen’s commitment to product longevity and sustainability, with future software upgrades planned to keep the headphones technologically up to date.
Three color options
The headphones are available in three colors: Infinite Black, Hourglass Sand and Sunset Apricot. They have a glass surface that incorporates touch controls, precise haptic dials and tactile buttons. The design prioritizes both aesthetics and functionality, using high-quality materials such as lambskin for the ear pads and a knitted textile for the headband, with the aim of ensuring comfort during prolonged wear.
Packed with innovative technology
Bang & Olufsen has packed the Beoplay H100 with features like Dolby Atmos support and spatial audio with head tracking for a more natural listening experience. The headphones are designed to detect when they’re being worn and automatically turn on and off to extend battery life. Beoplay H100 has a claimed battery life of up to 34 hours, with a quick charge option that delivers up to five hours of playtime after just five minutes of charging.
Active Noise Cancelling and true transparency
Users can seamlessly switch between different listening modes, including Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) and TrueTransparency mode, which allows ambient sounds to be heard as if no headphones were being worn. The user interface can be customized to personal preferences via the Bang & Olufsen app.
Focus on sustainability
The Beoplay H100 is designed with sustainability in mind, according to the manufacturer. B&O has incorporated cradle-to-cradle principles into the design and is aiming for official certification in 2025. The modular design approach not only makes repairs and replacement of parts easier, but also ensures that the headphones can be updated with new software features over time.
The commitment to sustainability is backed by a five-year warranty offered through the company’s Beocare program.
Price
The Beoplay H100 retails for just under $1,500.
