With the introduction of the X3 Series 2 and X5 Series 2 integrated amplifiers, the number of models in Rotel’s elite Michi series has increased to five. The glorious name Michi, under which high-end equipment is now produced, just as it was in the 90s, was decided to be revived by Rotel a year ago.

For the Michi X5 Series 2, this is already 600 W (or 350 W for 8-Ohm speakers). Its built-in DAC has a more advanced ESS SABER ES9028PRO chip, which provides bitrate operation up to 32 bit/768 kHz. The architecture of the X5 Series 2 is similar to the combination of the Michi P5 preamplifier and Michi S5 power amplifier.

The power supply of the new product uses two massive toroidal transformers of its own production. Separating power for different systems is designed to eliminate unwanted noise and distortion. The amplifier design uses a forward signal path circuit topology to optimize signal paths. Michi X5 Series 2 is capable of switching 13 sources. There are four analog inputs (three unbalanced RCA and one balanced XLR), plus an MM phono input.

Digital switching is represented by three optical and three coaxial inputs, supplemented by PC-USB. Another signal transmission option for Michi X5 Series 2 is Bluetooth with aptX. In addition to DSD decoding, Michi X5 Series 2 is also ready to work with the MQA format.

In addition, it is supplemented with another analog RCA input, and the on-board phono stage, in addition to MM cartridges, is also ready to work with the MC version. Just like the X3 Series 2, the Michi X5 Series 2 is equipped with a high-resolution multifunction display and has RS232 and Ethernet control capabilities.

All Michi models are designed and assembled to high quality standards in the Michi factory.
