Krell K-300i: Impeccable integrated amplifier

Krell K-300i
Krell K-300i

North American High-End manufacturer Krell Industries launched the K-300i integrated amplifier. Equipment owners and Krell fans are well aware of this index – once upon a time the company already released an integrated amplifier model called KAV-300i, which was one of the leaders in its class. Here’s what they say about the veteran KAV-300i: “In 1999, the Krell engineering team, led by Dave Goodman, released the original KAV-300i integrated amplifier that literally stunned the world. For its time, it was the world’s first high-quality integrated amplifier that provided audio performance similar to that previously only available from high-end separate components.”

The Krell K-300i is based on a new circuit design with Krell’s patented iBias technology. The amplifier produces 150 W per channel at 8 ohms, and 300 W per channel at 4 ohms. Krell iBias technology allows you to get the sonic benefits of a Class A amplifier without the excessive heat and power consumption of traditional Class A designs. The Krell K-300i uses Krell’s proprietary Current Mode topology. This is a fully differential circuit that extends from the input stage to the final output amplification phase. This ensures extreme linearity of sound as well as an expanded frequency range, with smooth and detailed highs and dynamic, energetic lows.

The Krell K-300i amplifier is offered in two configurations – the usual one with analog RCA and XLR inputs, and the Digital configuration, where a DAC, a streaming module, wireless interfaces and advanced digital AV switching are added to the device.
