Clearaudio has given two existing MC cartridges a new coat of paint. The Concept MC and the Concept MC Signature were until recently only available with a black housing, but both MC cartridges are now also available in a silver version.
Clearaudio Concept MC Silver and Concept MC Signature Silver
According to the designers, the Concept MC and Concept MC Signature combine a minimalist design with exceptionally clear, detailed performance. The needle carrier is made of boron and the record groove is scanned with a microline scanning diamond. The turntable elements have a housing of an aluminum-magnesium alloy with a ceramic coating and weigh 8 grams.
Technically, the black and silver versions are identical. While the Clearaudio Concept MC already has a channel mismatch of less than 0.5 dB, the channel mismatch of the Clearaudio Concept MC Signature is only less than 0.3 decibels. The system impedance for both systems is 11 Ohms.
The output voltage of the Clearaudio Concept MC and Clearaudio Concept MC Signature is 0.4 mV and the specified frequency range is 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The recommended tracking force is 2.2 grams.
