Naim understands that while many users enjoy creating their own music playlists, there are times when you just want to sit back and let the radio take the reins. For this reason, Naim has always offered extensive support for internet radio. Now, Naim is taking things a step further by creating and offering its own internet radio server. This new solution puts the power of choice at your fingertips, so listeners can enjoy the very best in radio listening, says Naim Audio.

To this end, Naim has partnered with XPeri to bring its own internet radio server in-house. This move not only increases reliability but also unlocks a range of exciting new features, including:

  • Access to over 45,000 stations worldwide
  • Advanced metadata for artist, song and album details on many stations
  • Emphasis on high quality audio streams
  • Improved station categorization
  • High resolution station artwork
  • Automated station scanning
  • Access to the station’s podcasts, where available

As part of this upgrade, the Focal & Naim app will ensure that favourite stations and presets are seamlessly updated to work with the new server, ensuring an uninterrupted listening experience, according to Naim.

In addition to improving its internet radio service, Naim Audio is also expanding its streaming options. Tidal’s new 24-bit/192kHz streaming subscription, TIDAL Max, is now fully supported via both the Focal & Naim app and Tidal Connect, delivering a superior audio experience. In addition, Chinese customers are further supported with Q-Play now available on Naim products. QQ Music users can now effortlessly stream their favourite tracks by selecting their Naim device directly from the QQ Music app, delivering a smooth and immersive listening experience.

The new software will be offered automatically via the Focal & Naim app for 2nd generation Uniti Mu-so, ND555, NDX 2, ND5 XS2 and members of the New Classic Series.
