Two inexpensive models of active desktop monitors are presented – HS3 and HS4. Both are two-way, built according to the master/slave topology, equipped with a level control, step correction at low and high to adapt to the acoustics of the room, regular (RCA) and balanced (XLR) inputs. They differ in size and caliber of drivers.

The HS3 model is equipped with a 0.75″ tweeter and a 3.5″ woofer, HS4 – 1″ and 4.5″, respectively. The frequency range of the first extends down to 70 Hz, the second to 60 Hz, in both cases with a tolerance of -10 dB. Crossovers are passive.

The amplifier operates in class D and develops a power of 2 x 26 W. The dimensions of each speaker HS3 are 132 x 189 x 223 mm, HS4 – 150 x 213 x 240 mm. The weight of the set is 4.9 kg and 6.8 kg, respectively. Recommended prices: HS3 – $250, HS4 – $285. YAMAHA
