Sonos has established a reputation for its advanced multi-room systems and high-fidelity components designed for smart homes. The newly launched Arc Ultra represents the latest advancement in home entertainment technology.
Premiere for Sound Motion Technology
Arc Ultra represents a fresh take on our top-selling soundbar, states Patrick Spence, CEO of Sonos. The company claims that the Sonos Arc Ultra is the first to incorporate a transducer technology known as Sound Motion. This innovative technology aims to enhance bass performance while minimizing the transducer’s size.
The system features 14 drivers engineered by Sonos, which include a Sound Motion woofer and a set of tweeters equipped with waveguides on both ends. This arrangement delivers a 9.1.4 surround sound experience in the living space. Additionally, Sonos has integrated its proprietary Trueplay technology, now available for both iOS and Android devices, allowing users to customize the audio to suit their specific room acoustics.
Sonos has also revealed enhancements to its application. A software update, set to launch alongside the new soundbar, aims to address the functionality shortcomings of the previous version, which had led to various issues in the past.
New Sub 4 Wi-Fi subwoofer
Sonos is unveiling its latest generation of Wi-Fi subwoofers with the introduction of the Sub 4. This model features two inward-facing elliptical woofers measuring 5 inches by 8 inches, powered by a pair of digital Class-D amplifiers. The manufacturer claims that this subwoofer is ideal for medium to large spaces.
Price and availability
Sonos’ Arc Ultra and Sub 4 will be available from October 29, 2024, priced at €999 and €899, respectively.
