The miniDSP SPK-4P is a full-range PoE+ speaker that combines streaming audio (AVB), Class D amplification, and digital signal processing (DSP).
A single RJ45 Cat5/6 Ethernet cable is used to power the speaker, stream audio, and control the device, allowing for a Plug&Play system. The system consists of three key components:
- Audio Video Bridging (AVB) technology, powered by the 500 MHz XMOS processor, ensures very low latency and offers an uncompressed and perfectly synchronized audio stream between every speaker in the network.
- The Analog Devices SHARC 400 MHz processor is responsible for signal processing and offers equalization, filtering and acoustic correction. Each element is accessible and can be configured using the intuitive software provided by miniDSP.
- New multi-level switching audio amplifier technology developed by Merus Audio allows the SPK-4P to deliver 2x15W of power. This means that each SPK-4P can act as an amplifier for two speakers (master + slave).
