The American company JBL introduces a new line of speaker systems called HDI (High Definition Imaging). The series includes two pairs of floor-standing speakers, a bookshelf speaker system, a center channel and a subwoofer. Case finishing options: glossy black autovarnish, as well as gray oak and brown walnut matte veneer. The protective nets are attached with magnets.
According to Harman Luxury Audio Product Development Director Jim Garrett, the HDI series features some of JBL’s most advanced technologies. In particular, all four models in the line are based on the patented 2410H-2 compression driver. It is an improved version of the speaker used in the company’s professional speaker systems. It is based on a lightweight polymer annular diaphragm, its V-shaped geometry reduces distortion. This, combined with JBL’s patented High Definition Dial Input (HDI) waveguide geometry, delivers accurate high-frequency reproduction with incredible dynamics and no compression.
In addition to the outstanding high-frequency performance, each HDI model features equally impressive woofers with aluminum cones in a die-cast frame. They provide high output power with low distortion. In addition to impressive performance, the HDI series devices have an attractive design. All models will be available in three finishes: black gloss lacquered, satin-finished walnut veneer and satin-finished oak veneer. The HDI-1600 bookshelf model is also available with the HDI-FS floorstand, which features a glossy black base to complement the speaker’s appearance.
