The JBL Bar 5.0 MultiBeam soundbar is a compact multifunctional device for music and movies. Among the main differences of the new product, the developers noted the Virtual Dolby Atmos technology and the proprietary MultiBeam sound distribution system. Despite its modest dimensions, the manufacturer promised not only impressive surround sound, but also decent bass, which is provided by four passive radiators.
The aforementioned MultiBeam system (Harman’s own development) is designed to provide the feeling of a multi-channel setup without additional speakers. Virtual Dolby Atmos technology allowed the soundbar to reproduce signals from high channels. According to the company, the emitters built into the Bar 5.0, together with the indicated technologies, will delight the user with rich surround sound.
This concept of virtual cinema sound is called “JBL 3D Surround Sound”. It is worth noting that the Bar 5.0 can work in the same system with devices based on Amazon Alexa and can receive a signal via Apple Airplay 2 and Chromecast. There is also standard Bluetooth.
