Elipson XLS11 is a three-way bass reflex speaker system in retro style, complementing the older models XLS15 and XLS17. The new product is designed to “quench today’s thirst for modern technology wrapped in vintage design.”
The XLS11 takes the lessons learned from the XLS15 and combines them with a more compact form factor to provide additional flexibility. The speaker is equipped with a 2.2-inch dome driver for mid frequencies and a 0.87-inch silk dome tweeter, borrowed from the flagship Elipson Prestige. The woofer is 12 inches and is complemented by a flared front port tuned to 37 Hz. The crossovers appear to be tuned to 850 and 5000 Hz.
The XLS11, like the XLS15, features additional flexible fine-tuning controls on the front panel of the speaker, allowing mid- and high-frequency amplitude adjustments of ±2 dB, making it easier to match the speakers to the room. Overall frequency response (≤3 dB) is stated to be 45–25,000 Hz, with a sensitivity of 90 dB/1 W/1 m and a nominal impedance of 6 ohms (minimum 3.4 ohms at 2600 Hz).
For an additional fee, a special stand is available, designed to place the speaker at the optimal height and at the optimal angle to ensure ideal acoustic phase. All designed and manufactured in Burgundy, France.
