The updated Dynaudio Xeo 20 bookshelf speaker features a 14cm Esotec MSP main driver and a 28mm Esotec soft dome tweeter. Each driver is driven by a separate 65W digital amplifier.

Each Xeo 20 amplifier is configured to work with its own load in a similar way to the LYD 5 professional studio monitor. This method provides a direct connection from the performer to the sound engineer’s mixing console and then to the listener’s living room.

The updated firmware includes improved algorithms for the compressor, limiter and simplified crossover. This means more overlap of the drivers’ frequency ranges for better integration and wider off-axis dispersion, so that even if the listener is moved sideways in the optimum drying zone, he will still have good sound. The DSP processor has become more powerful and can compensate for the effects of placing the speakers in a corner, near a wall or in free space. This function is similar to that used in the new Focus XD series of speakers. The bass port of the slot type makes the bass more focused and deeper.

The Dynaudio Xeo 20 has a direct audio input, so it does not need any external devices to connect to existing equipment, although if you want to expand its capabilities, including wireless high-resolution audio playback at 24-bit/96 kHz, the optional Dynaudio Connect adapter will solve this problem.

On the rear panel of the master speaker (either left or right can be assigned as the master) there is a 24-bit/96kHz Toslink digital optical input, a pair of stereo RCA connectors and a 3.5mm mini-jack for external sources.

One of the two speaker systems is listed as the Master speaker and has the following set of inputs: two analog linear (mini-jack and RCA) and optical. The Dynaudio Xeo 20 model is equipped with a Bluetooth module with aptX codec support, and when paired with a source via Wi-Fi, it can receive Hi-Res audio at a resolution of up to 24 bits / 96 kHz. Both speakers communicate with each other wirelessly and use a signal in the same resolution. An optional  Dynaudio Connect Wi-Fi transmitter is available , thanks to which you can expand the switching capabilities and even connect to a computer via Mini-USB.

The speaker is equipped with switches for switching to the left or right channel sound mode and for selecting one of three multi-room zones. To control the Dynaudio Xeo 20 and Connect, you can use the standard remote control or the Connect Control app for iOS devices.

The Dynaudio Xeo 20 can be mounted on the optional  Stand 10  or  Stand 20 stands , and there are also provisions on the rear panel for mounting a Vesa 100 bracket. It is available in two finishes: Black Satin and White Satin.
