Astell & Kern instead of the usual pocket players has released a wireless speaker ACRO BE100 in its traditional design.
Under the hood of Astell & Kern’s ACRO BE100 is a 32-bit DAC and Bluetooth 5.0 for 24-bit high-definition wireless streaming codecs, including aptX HD (48kHz) and LDAC (96kHz). A 4″ Kevlar woofer and two 1.5″ silk dome tweeters deliver a massive sound. The drivers are powered by a custom designed Class D amplifier providing 55W total power and a claimed 50-20kHz frequency response.
Dynamic Range Control (DRC) protects the speaker when maximum output power is reached. The Bluetooth chipset is equipped with a 50ps clock generator, which, according to A&K, minimized jitter. An analog input is also provided – AUX 3.5.
The faux-leather-wrapped ACRO BE100 is instantly recognizable with its metal grille, which features a brutal, angular aesthetic like the Astell & Kern Kann Alpha or A& norma SR25 MKII.
