Audio Analogue has introduced the Audio Analogue ABSolute PA Mono, a Class AB mono power amplifier with 500 watts of power into eight ohms. Designed within the manufacturer’s ABSolute line, the new amplifier is intended as a partner for demanding loudspeakers, aiming to deliver high power and stable performance. The ABSolute PA Mono weighs 50 kilograms, and two are required for stereo operation.

The Audio Analogue ABsolute PA Mono amplifier uses a fully balanced, discrete topology and operates without global feedback. Designed to combine a powerful yet noise-free output signal with low distortion, the unit is built around a robust amplifier stage with multiple output transistors.

The nominal output power is 500 watts into eight ohms, 800 watts into four ohms, and 1,400 watts into two ohms. The S/N ratio is specified as 118 dB (reference 500 watts), with distortion of less than 0.1% from 1 watt to 500 watts into eight ohms and across the entire frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The amplifier also has a damping factor of 45 and a frequency response up to 200 kHz (at -3 dB level).

The ABSolute PA Mono features high-quality components, including oversized resistors and audio capacitors. The cabinet follows the brand’s minimalist design philosophy, emphasizing high structural rigidity and robust construction. The amplifier weighs 50 kilograms and measures 270 x 483 x 445 millimeters (H x W x D).

The rear panel features a balanced XLR input and speaker terminals, along with a 12V trigger input and a power supply jack. A standby switch and an LED indicator are located on the front panel.

The specified standby power consumption is less than 0.5 watts at 230 VAC. The device is equipped with automatic safety monitoring, with faults indicated by flashing LEDs.

Audio Analogue recommends ample ventilation, as the amplifier can generate considerable heat. The company recommends a clear space of 30 centimeters around the unit for air circulation and stability. No, this isn’t an amplifier you put in a closed cabinet. It’s far too beautiful for that.
