Triode, a Japanese firm, has introduced a new integrated amplifier, the Evolution Musashi, set to hit the market this summer with a retail price of $5000.

This latest amplifier serves as an enhancement of its predecessor, the Musashi, maintaining the use of KT150 output tubes. For the preamp section, the engineers opted for 12AU7 tubes, and it features a unique mechanism that allows users to manually adjust the bias voltage.

The Evolution Musashi boasts push-pull amplifier stages in class AB, offering a power output of 2 × 80 W with an 8 ohms nominal impedance. It operates across a frequency range of 6 Hz to 80,000 Hz, presents a signal-to-noise ratio of 93 dB, and consumes 520 W of power, reducing to 190 W when in idle mode.

Additionally, it comes with a feature that permits the deactivation of the input selector and volume control, enabling it to function as a standard power amplifier. The dimensions of the unit are 440 × 337 × 220 mm, and it weighs 32.8 kg.
