T+A HA 200: High-end device with an interesting set of functions

The T+A HA 200 headphone amplifier is a high-end device and has an interesting set of functions. The device is made in a metal case, on the aluminum front panel of which there are analog dial indicators and a high-contrast display, which displays all the information about the operating modes of the amplifier.

T+A HA 200 is designed according to the dual mono principle, with separate toroidal transformers in the power supply for each stereo channel. The amplifier part of the device is built entirely on discrete components, with selected MOSFET transistors at the output, and operates in class A. The T+A HA 200 is equipped with balanced and unbalanced outputs, and you can also connect both types of headphones to it. In total, the device has three headphone outputs: Jack 6.3 mm, 4.4 mm Pentacon and XLR (4-pin). You can connect not only headphones to the latter, but also a stereo power amplifier, thereby turning the T+A HA 200 into a preamplifier. The volume control in the device is made on a relay with a level change step of 0.1 dB.

In addition to analog inputs, the headphone amplifier also has connectors for digital signal sources, and their set is very interesting. The T+A HA 200 model provides two USB inputs for connecting to a PC, as well as coaxial and AES/EBU inputs. The device has a dual differential DAC, which provides signal processing with parameters up to 32 bit / 768 kHz, as well as DSD 1024. The converter uses the function of upsampling the input signal and using digital filters to choose from. However, in addition to these traditional digital inputs for such devices, the T+A HA 200 also has two HDMI inputs, as well as an output with support for the ARC audio return channel. Thus, the amplifier can be connected to the outputs of Blu-ray players and used to listen to music or watch movies without additional signal conversion. Another interesting feature of this model is a Bluetooth receiver with support for the aptX HD audio codec.

Thanks to uncompromising circuit design and selected components, the T+A HA 200 headphone amplifier can be used not only in the home systems of the most demanding audiophiles, but also in recording studios.
