The successor to the DL200 , the SMSL DL300 retains the main features of its predecessor, but at the same time receives a number of improvements. For example, the DL300 uses a combination of AKM AK4191 (digital interface) and AK4499EX (DAC chip). This chipset allows the DL300 to support high-resolution streams up to PCM 32-bit 768 kHz, DSD DoP256, native DSD DSD512 and MQA/MQA-CD streams.
Like the DL200, the DL300 has two headphone outputs on the front panel (6.35mm jack and 4.4mm balanced). It is equipped with high-quality components such as Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth 5.1 receiver chip and XMOS XU-316 USB interface. In terms of connectivity, the essentials are all there: USB-C input, optical Toslink, coaxial SPDIF, stereo RCA output, plus a new balanced stereo output on XLR (previously Jack 6.35mm on the DL200) and I2S input via HDMI.
The numerous enhancements made to the SMSL DL300 make it a versatile, high-performance DAC/headphone amplifier.
The SMSL DL300 offers PCM filters that affect the audio signal, as well as 4 tone control options to customize the source and listener preferences.
The SMSL DL300 supports high sampling rates up to PCM 32bit 768kHz, DSD DoP256, native DSD DSD512 and MQA/MQA-CD streams thanks to the combination of AKM AK4191 and AK4499EX chips. These chips provide clear, rich sound reproduction with very low distortion THD+N: 0.00006% (-124 dB, UN-WTD).
Qualcomm’s QCC5125 Bluetooth receiver chip supports standard SBC and AAC codecs, as well as aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive and LDAC high-definition codecs. Thus, the DL300 allows you to transmit high-quality audio streams over a wireless network.
The third generation USB XMOS XU-316 interface on a USB-C connector allows the SMSL DL300 to process high-resolution streams. This makes it ideal for users who want to use their computer as an audio source.
The SMSL DL300 decodes MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) files, delivering audio quality that is as close to the actual studio recording as possible. It also supports the MQA-CD format, allowing it to be read from a CD player. MQA streams are supported by optical, coaxial and USB-C Toslink inputs.
