McIntosh MCD350: Exceptional SACD/CD player

The McIntosh MCD350 SACD/CD player delivers exceptional playback quality for both SACDs and compact discs. It features a balanced 2-channel, 32-bit/192 kHz digital-to-analog converter. Users can utilize not only analog outputs but also digital coaxial and optical outputs. A notable highlight of this player is its double reading speed, which enhances data storage in buffer memory, facilitating improved tracking and timely error correction.

The disc reading mechanism employs a single lens for both laser blocks, each operating at different wavelengths for CD and SACD formats. The external design of this model aligns perfectly with the brand’s signature aesthetic. Additionally, all analog and digital coaxial outputs are gold-plated, ensuring excellent resistance to corrosion.

The McIntosh MCD350 is equipped with an 8-channel ES9018 Sabre32 Reference DAC (32-bit/192 kHz) from ESS Technology, functioning in Quad Balanced Mode, which utilizes four DAC channels for each stereo output. This advanced chip is capable of processing both PCM and DSD signals, delivering remarkably low jitter and an impressive dynamic range of up to 133 dB in stereo mode. Additionally, the power supply features a premium R-Core transformer.

With a 2x read speed, the MCD350 reads all discs that are securely housed in a rigid aluminum sheet under pressure at an accelerated rate. This enables the data to be stored in buffer memory, enhancing error correction and tracking capabilities. The dual laser optical sensor incorporates a single lens with two laser devices, each optimized for different wavelengths to ensure optimal SACD and CD playback.
