McIntosh has announced the release of the C55 solid state preamplifier . According to the developers, the new product was created for discerning audiophiles, combining advanced technology and timeless design.
The McIntosh C55 preamp takes the best of the C53 and takes sound quality to a whole new level. The device is equipped with an 8-band analog equalizer to fine-tune your music and create a personalized sound.
The amplifier has 16 inputs (9 analog and 7 digital) and supports a large number of signal sources, including vinyl record players. Digital inputs operate at up to 24-bit/192 kHz resolution. It is reported that there is a 32-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC), three stereo pairs of variable balanced and unbalanced outputs, a headphone input with HDX technology and a processor loop function that has returned to the C55 for connecting an external equalizer. The Eco Power Management feature will turn off the preamp if it has been left idle for 30 minutes.
