The Integra DTM-7.4 is a two-channel receiver with just about every conceivable analog and digital connection. The device distinguishes itself from many competitors by the presence of an RS-232 port. The DTM-7.4 supports the platforms of Control4, Creston, Savant and others and can therefore easily be included in a smart home system.

Integra DTM-7.4

Integra is a sister brand of Onkyo and is owned by Premium Audio Co., an investment company that owns the Klipsch brands, among others. Jamo, Magnat, Heco, Pioneer, Onkyo and Integra. The Integra DTM-7.4 has many similarities with theĀ Onkyo TX-8470. The big difference is that the Integra DTM-7.4 offers all kinds of options that are interesting if the user wants to integrate the stereo receiver into a home automation system.

The DTM-7.4 is designed and built for smart home installation needs. The two-channel receiver has web installation, IP control, RS232, IR in/out and remote control and diagnostics.

Ideal for areas that do not require surround channels, the DTM-7.4 is specifically designed for easy system integration for installers. Add to that a full suite of built-in CI integration software tools and compatibility with Control4 SDDP, Crestron, Josh, Savant (and others), and the DTM-7.4 can be integrated into any home entertainment system. The DTM-7.4 also comes with a traditional-looking remote control and also offers voice control via built-in Google (Google Assistant) and Apple (Siri).

Just like the Onkyo TX-8470, the Integra DTM-7.4 is a two-channel amplifier with radio functions, streaming functions and an abundance of analog and digital connections, including HDMI connections and a turntable input. The output stages operate in class G and can deliver 110 Watts per channel at eight Ohms. The DTM-7.4 seems to be made for those who don’t need surround sound and the additional amount of speakers and installation complexity.
