Focal has launched the all-in-one Mu-so Hekla, which it claims redefines home theater. According to its designers, the Mu-so Hekla combines exceptional performance with effortless ease of use and is designed to transform everyday moments into immersive, emotional experiences.
Focal Mu-so Hekla

Focal presents the Mu-so Hekla as the perfect balance of power, beauty, and versatility for modern living, seamlessly integrating it into your daily routine. Inspired by Iceland’s Hekla volcano, the system delivers powerful, enveloping sound thanks to Dolby Atmos technology. Whether watching movies, music, or video games, the Mu-so Hekla enhances every piece of content with breathtaking spatial audio, powered by the acoustic and electronic expertise of Focal and Naim.
The Mu-so Hekla offers a range of customizable audio modes, from stereo to Dolby Atmos. Accessible via the Focal & Naim app, these include Sphere Music and Sphere Movie, both specially designed by engineers at Focal and Naim, the British brand with which Focal has a long-standing partnership. The Sphere module, part of the Naim Pulse Platform, guarantees true hi-fi sound reproduction thanks to optimized, latency-free processing power delivered by the Hekla’s dual-core processor.
Focal Mu-so Hekla: advanced technology, easy to use

The Mu-so Hekla is easy to set up and use, connecting seamlessly to music sources, including high-resolution streaming. Control it via the Focal & Naim app, smartwatch (Apple, Samsung), voice assistant, or a home automation system. The Hekla’s tactile volume knob provides a smooth, elegant way to adjust the volume and access key functions.

With versatile wired connections, including HDMI eARC and optical Toslink, the Mu-so Hekla easily connects to a television, games console, or CD/Blu-ray player. The Mu-so Hekla supports everything from 2.0 configurations to fully immersive 7.1.2 setups. Thanks to the Naim Pulse Platform, the listener has instant access to their music. Stream wirelessly via AirPlay, Google Cast, UPnP, Bluetooth, or connect directly to streaming services such as Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, and QQ Music (in China). Everything is easily managed via the Focal & Naim app. The app’s Multiroom functionality allows playback to be synchronised across multiple Focal & Naim systems.
Focal Mu-so Hekla: sonic explosion, power and precision

The Mu-so Hekla features 15 speaker drivers and a total amplifier power of 660 watts to comfortably fill rooms up to 40 m² with rich, detailed sound. The woofers deliver rich, enveloping bass, and a subwoofer can be added via the dedicated RCA output. Full-range drivers project sound that naturally travels off walls and ceilings for an immersive experience. This spatialization, developed by Focal’s acoustic engineers, combines Beamforming and Crosstalk Cancellation technologies for precise, detailed sound placement. For optimal performance, the intelligent ADAPT tuning technology automatically calibrates the system to your room and listening preferences for a perfectly personalized experience.
Focal Mu-so Hekla: excellence made simple, compact and refined design

Behind the Mu-so Hekla’s refined design lies a meticulously crafted acoustic architecture, with speaker drivers positioned for extended coverage and exceptional clarity in both stereo and immersive configurations. As Mu-so’s newest flagship, it sets the standard for all-in-one systems, delivering true hi-fi performance with effortless simplicity, whether for music or home theater.

Crafted from brushed anodized aluminum, the Mu-so Hekla exudes understated luxury within a single sculptural form. The alternating brushed and bead-blasted finishes evoke the precision of fine watchmaking and echo the design code of the Diva Utopia’s “watch crown.” The finely perforated grille and signature volume knob, a nod to its volcanic namesake, add a touch of elegance. On the back, the signature Naim heat sink cleverly combines thermal management with integrated Wi-Fi connectivity.

The Focal Mu-so will debut in South Korea and China. It is expected to be available during the first quarter with a suggested retail price of $3,300.
