After the release of the One HD, Cyrus engineers took a more than logical step by creating the One Cast intelligent audio module. The model received the best from its predecessor: the design and dimensions of the case, the purpose and location of controls and switching, the layout of the main elements on the backplane. The Cyrus One HD continues to feature a 100W per channel Class D stereo amplifier (6 ohm load) with SID, which automatically calibrates the amplifier to speaker impedance.
The Cyrus One One Cast model still has a USB input for Hi-Res audio files, as well as optical and coaxial digital inputs. The built-in 32-bit ESS DAC is capable of processing digital files up to 32-bit/192 kHz resolution and DSD 128. In addition to the already known switching and signal transfer options (optical Toslink, coaxial SPDIF, Bluetooth, RCA audio input, phono input for MM cartridges and adjustable analog input for AV integration) HDMI-ARC added. That is, the new product is able to work with the TV as a single unit.
As for the differences from the One HD, we note a conspicuous pair of Wi-Fi antennas (there is no LAN connector on the rear panel). The owner of the Cyrus One Cast has access to Spotify, Deezer, Amazon Music, iTunes, Qobuz, Tidal – almost any streaming service. In addition, Roon is also provided. If you have Voice Assistant speakers on your network, you can use voice commands to send music directly to One Cast. It can also be used as part of a multiroom. One Cast works with voice control from Google, Apple and Amazon. This network amplifier can connect wirelessly to almost any device using AirPlay2, Chromecast or Bluetooth.
And in another addition inherited from the One HD, the One Cast also features a “class-leading” Class AB headphone amplifier, according to the brand. All this still fits into the same case with dimensions of 85x220x390 mm.
Cyrus has released the ONElinear speakers, designed to be the perfect partner for the ONE amplifier. According to the developers, the ONE amplifier was previously demonstrated with higher-end acoustics that could unlock its potential, but now Cyrus decided to create “acoustics that are worthy of it and at the same time affordable.” New – compact bookshelf speakers with a 5-inch Kevlar mid/bass driver and an inch soft-dome tweeter. System impedance – 8 Ohms, sensitivity – 86 dB. The acoustics are capable of playing signals in the range from 50 Hz to 24 kHz. The acoustic design is bass reflex, with a port located on the rear wall. The manufacturer recommends placing the speakers at a distance of 10-30 cm from the wall.
