The British company Cyrus Audio has introduced a new MM/MC phono preamplifier, which will replace the Cyrus Phono Signature model, produced since 2016, in the company’s range.
Chris Hutcheson , Head of Marketing at Cyrus, said: “We wanted to ensure that updating this popular phono preamp did not unduly increase the price and that it remained part of the new Classic range. A year of work by our team has allowed us to deeply modernize Phono Signature. The main board has been redesigned, vibration isolation has been improved, and better resistance to external electrical interference has been provided, which is especially important for a phono preamplifier operating with weak signals . ”
The connection arsenal of the Cyrus Classic Phono allows you to simultaneously connect up to four turntables or tonearms and easily switch between them. For each input, you can set the cartridge type MM or MC, gain, as well as resistance and capacitance. All settings are saved in memory for future use.
Like all Classic Series components, the Cyrus Classic Phono is equipped with a port for connecting the optional PSX-R2 external power supply. For connection to an amplifier, balanced analogue outputs are provided on XLR connectors and unbalanced on RCA connectors.
The Cyrus Classic Phono features passive RIAA equalization. The circuit uses high quality metallized polyester capacitors to ensure maximum correction accuracy. The new product comes with a wireless remote control that allows you to change all the main parameters of the device without getting up from your chair.
