The Bose Corporation, based in the United States, has announced its acquisition of the McIntosh Group. This group serves as the parent company for McIntosh as well as the Italian loudspeaker manufacturer Sonus faber. Bose has indicated that, at this time, there will be no alterations to the business operations of either McIntosh or Sonus faber, and production facilities will remain in their current locations.

The acquisition will allow Bose to integrate its innovative research and technology into the high-performance and luxury segments of the market, while continuing to build out its premium solutions. From earbuds and Bluetooth speakers to luxury home and car systems, Bose and McIntosh Group will offer consumers a unique range of products. Well, Bose Bluetooth speakers and Sonus faber speakers are worlds apart.

The combined strengths of Bose and McIntosh Group could also open up new opportunities in the automotive space, according to the press release. By leveraging Bose’s 40-year expertise in automotive audio, as well as McIntosh Group’s heritage in performance and design, the two brands will work together to expand their research and develop authentic in-car experiences that redefine automotive sound.
