Sony has introduced its new entry-level headphones, the WF-C510. According to the manufacturer, these new TWS earbuds offer high sound quality and comfortable operation at a low price. They use a rounded design and a matte texture to increase wearing comfort. To control the volume and other functions, the in-ears have a wider surface button than previous models.

Ultimately, the Sony WF-C510 is of course an entry-level model, which inevitably means compromises. For example, you have to do without active noise cancellation (ANC) . The Japanese company says the battery life is up to 11 hours. With a 5-minute charge, you can get around an hour of playback. If you also include the charging case, it can be up to 11 hours before you need mains power again.

If you believe Sony, the WF-C510 are the company’s smallest closed headphones to date. But the cylindrical charging case is also said to be flatter than the previous model . The accompanying app is Sony Headphones Connect. There you have an equalizer available for adjusting the sound, for example. We have already taken a close look at the direct predecessor model, the Sony WF-C500, in the test lab and were thoroughly impressed. As a price-performance tip, the WF-C510 could now set new standards.

The Sony WF-C510 also supports Bluetooth Multipoint, so you can keep two devices connected in parallel. This way, you can play games on your notebook, for example, but have your smartphone ready for calls at the same time. There is also an ambient sound mode that can amplify ambient noise via the microphones. The special trick “Focus on Voice” ensures that only people’s voices are amplified.

Sony points out that the WF-C510 also supports 360 Reality Audio for spatial sound. You can pair the earbuds quickly thanks to Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. Mono operation with just one earbud is also possible. Spotify Tap can also be used. The headphones are also protected against splash water and sweat according to IPX4.
