Cambridge Audio’s endeavors are built upon not only over 50 years of experience in the audio sector but also a deep passion for music. This dedication to excellence is what defines the renowned Great British Sound that Cambridge Audio is known for. The Cambridge Audio Melomania Series of English headphones embodies this commitment.
Now, introducing the latest addition to this exceptional product line – the Cambridge Audio Melomania M100. This state-of-the-art solution showcases the cutting-edge technology and innovation that Cambridge Audio is renowned for.
Expanding beyond hi-fi systems, Cambridge Audio has launched the Cambridge Audio Melomania Series, promising the Great British Sound experience across all their personal audio devices. This includes solutions designed for on-the-go use, ensuring that the exceptional sound quality is always at your fingertips.
It is worth noting that the development of these headphones is entrusted to the same team at Cambridge Audio’s London headquarters, who are also responsible for the creation of their countless hi-fi components. This ensures a consistent level of expertise and craftsmanship throughout their entire product range.
10mm Class A/B driver and amplifier
What’s particularly exciting is that Cambridge Audio powers the 10 mm drivers used here with powerful neodymium magnets with an amplifier technology that is normally found in classic hi-fi components, namely Class A/B. This ensures that you achieve a particularly round, fine sound, as well as a very dynamic, detailed performance, as the manufacturer promises.
Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound
The focus of signal processing is initially the Qualcomm Snapdragon Platform , a highly integrated solution from the specialist Qualcomm Inc. , which serves as the basis for a wide range of options for the Cambridge Audio Melomania M100.
For example, Bluetooth 5.3 comes into play here for signal transmission; this enables the support of the lossy codeces SBC and AAC as the lowest common denominator, as well as completely lossless codeces based on Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound with aptX Lossless, where the manufacturer allows the transmission of the Originals bit by bit in 16 bit and 44.1 kHz.
The DSP available here also allows exciting functions, such as integrated active noise cancellation, whereby the Active Noise Cancellation used here, also known as ANC, is used as a hybrid solution consisting of feed-back and feed-forward technology comes and uses microphones located outside and in the ear canal for particularly accurate detection of ambient noise as a basis for the corresponding corrections.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon Platform also supports a 7-band equalizer, which, like all other functions, is accessible for individual adjustment via the appropriate Cambridge Audio Connect app. A special gaming mode can also be activated here to ensure a particularly low latency of just 80 ms. The touch control of the Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 can also be configured via the app, which should not be forgotten to mention.
It should also be noted that the new Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 has Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift, making it particularly easy and quick to connect to mobile devices.
In order to make the Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 as comfortable as possible, the developers evaluated data from thousands of pairs of ears in advance. The result should be an optimally balanced and lightweight earphone with perfect wearing comfort, as promised by the manufacturer.
Three sizes of silicone and two sizes of memory foam attachments are available here and are intended to ensure that the listener finds the right combination of long-lasting comfort and a precisely fitting, noise-isolating seal.
Up to ten hours of play time
The new Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 is said to last up to ten hours at a time on a single charge, including activated ANC. If you deactivate this, it can last up to 16 hours. Using the transport case included in the delivery, a total of up to 52 hours away from the socket should be possible and a quick charging function ensures up to two hours of music including active noise cancellation after just ten minutes of charging.
Prices and availability
The new Cambridge Audio Melomania M100 is now available from specialist retailers and, it should be emphasized, in plastic-free packaging. The headphones themselves are also made from 50 percent recycled plastic, and the neodymium in the drivers is also a recycled raw material.
