Audio-Technica has introduced the ATH-CKS50TW2, an enhanced iteration of the ATH-CKS50TW wireless in-ear headphones that debuted approximately three years ago. The ATH-CKS50TW2 maintains the extended battery life of its predecessor while incorporating new Magnetic Switch technology. Customers can select from three available color options.
Audio-Technica claims a battery capacity that allows for a total playback time of up to 65 hours, which includes 25 hours with the earbuds fully charged and an additional 40 hours when stored in the charging case. While using noise cancellation, the playback time is slightly reduced to 15 hours with the earbuds and 25 hours in the charging case. If you’re short on time, a quick five-minute charge provides approximately 90 minutes of listening time.
Audio-Technica’s new patented Magnetic Switch technology allows the earbuds to turn off when connected by built-in magnets. This is a great way to save power when the user is not carrying the case.
The in-ear headphones are equipped with nine-millimeter drivers specifically designed by Audio-Technica, providing clear and comprehensive audio with robust bass, according to the designers.
With a simple button press, the hybrid noise-cancelling technology employs both feedforward and feedback mechanisms to effectively eliminate background noise. For moments when users need to remain aware of their environment, the hear-through and talk-through modes allow for seamless interaction with surrounding sounds. Additionally, the earbuds feature dual high-performance MEMS microphones and beamforming technology, guaranteeing exceptional call clarity, even in loud settings.
The hybrid ear tips provided are crafted for a comfortable fit within the ear, utilizing a combination of hard and soft silicone to guarantee a secure placement that minimizes sound leakage. Additionally, these ear tips meet the IP55 standard for water and dust resistance.
The AT Connect app improves user control by offering a low-latency mode for uninterrupted streaming, customizable equalizer settings, and straightforward device tracking. With multipoint pairing and compatibility for Qi wireless charging, it facilitates effortless daily usage. Notable features include a distinctive Soundscape mode that provides nature sounds for relaxation, noise masking for enhanced focus, and meditative audio. The adjustable knob simplifies management of playback, volume, and voice assistants, while the option for dual or single-ear use accommodates various listening preferences. Additionally, the ATH-CKS50TW2 is compatible with Siri and Google Assistant.
