The NAC 252 from Naim is built upon the legendary NAC 52, known as one of the top preamplifiers in history.It offers vastly expanded control and connectivity options, as well as significant improvements in design, fit and finish, and years of research and development have also improved the acoustics, making the sound faster, more detailed, more transparent and more musical.
The Naim NAC 252 involved exploring many different circuit designs and completely rethinking the topology and components used in them. Thousands of hours spent listening to different designs ensures that Naim audio products always maintain the marriage of music and technology. Precision rotary potentiometers with precious metal blades maintain musical integrity and ensure long-term stability. Ten independently regulated power supplies are fed by a matched SuperCap power supply. Separate regulated supplies for the digital control and relay sections ensure that there is no noise generated by these circuits.
The Naim NAC 252 combines accurate, musical and faithful reproduction with increased versatility, ensuring that this preamplifier can serve as the heart of high-quality audio systems for many years to come.
In addition to the traditional DIN inputs (which provide better sound and are better immune to interference), the Naim NAC 252 has two configurable RCA inputs for use with alternative components and cables. A separate configurable unity gain input is provided for use with AV receivers etc.
Each of the six inputs has separate listening and recording functions. In addition to the usual muting function, the NAC 252 mutes not only the output itself but also all associated circuitry, thus eliminating the possibility of adversely affecting the main output.
