Cayin has introduced the Jazz 100, an enhanced successor to its well-regarded Jazz 80 tube amplifier. Aimed at audiophiles who desire superior sound quality and performance, the Jazz 100 improves upon its predecessor with advancements in design, components, and overall functionality.
This amplifier operates in pure Class A, a standard for high-fidelity audio systems, and can deliver 2 x 46 W of power. In contrast to the Jazz 80, which utilized KT88 pentodes for its output, the Jazz 100 features 805A generator triodes, recognized for their capacity to produce a powerful, clean, and warm sound. This modification marks a notable enhancement in the amplifier’s output stage.
The preliminary and control stages also reflect a technological evolution. Cayin has selected components such as the 6JC6, 6SN7, and 6L6 tubes, all crafted by the esteemed audio experts at Mullard. These components are celebrated for their reliability and their role in achieving a balanced, rich tonal quality, further elevating the audio performance of the Jazz 100.
Built-In Wireless Connectivity and DAC
The Jazz 100 not only excels in analog performance but also incorporates contemporary features that enhance convenience and adaptability. It includes a Bluetooth 5.0 adapter, compatible with advanced codecs like aptX HD and aptX Low Latency, which guarantees high-quality wireless audio streaming with minimal latency. This capability, initially introduced in the Jazz 80, has been retained in the Jazz 100 to meet the needs of users who prioritize wireless options.
For those who appreciate digital audio, the Jazz 100 is equipped with a built-in ESS ES9018K2M digital-to-analog converter (DAC). This DAC is celebrated for its accurate sound reproduction and its capacity to process high-resolution audio files, making the Jazz 100 an excellent choice for both analog and digital audio inputs.
Design and Availability
The Jazz 100 upholds Cayin’s sophisticated design, available in both black and silver finishes. This selection ensures it integrates effortlessly into diverse home audio configurations. Merging traditional tube technology with contemporary digital capabilities, the Jazz 100 serves as a flexible option for discerning audiophiles.
