Audiolab has updated its 6000A integrated amplifier. The core design of the 6000A MkII continues to utilize a Class AB amplifier with a toroidal transformer; however, the engineers have upgraded the DAC chips and incorporated an HDMI connection.

Audiolab’s latest 6000A MkII integrated amplifier represents an evolution of the original 6000A, aiming to establish new benchmarks in performance, sound quality, and connectivity, as stated by the manufacturer. While the 6000A MkII maintains the successful design and philosophy of its predecessor, it introduces several technical enhancements.

Central to the power supply of the 6000A MkII is a robust 200VA toroidal transformer, complemented by four 15,000µF smoothing capacitors. This integrated amplifier offers versatile operating modes: 1. Integrated amplifier (Integrated), 2. Pre amplifier only (Pre) for use with an external power amplifier, and 3. Power amplifier only with an external pre amplifier, thereby accommodating a broad spectrum of applications. The 6000A MkII operates in Class AB, providing 50 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 75 watts at 4 ohms.

The HDMI ARC input allows for seamless integration of the 6000A MKII into audio-visual systems. With Bluetooth 5.1 aptX HD, it ensures superior audio streaming from mobile devices. Additionally, it features four digital and four analogue RCA connections for source connectivity.

Featuring the ESS Sabre ES9038Q2M DAC chip, the 6000A MKII delivers outstanding digital signal processing capabilities, supporting 32-bit/768kHz PCM. The device also utilizes HyperStream II architecture to reduce conversion errors and signal degradation. Furthermore, the Time Domain Jitter Eliminator improves audio clarity by minimizing jitter.

The Audiolab 6000A MKII is expected to be available around mid-March, with a suggested retail price of just under $900.
