Pro-Ject player from the far side of the moon

50 years have passed since the release of Pink Floyd ‘s famous album The Dark Side Of The Moon . To commemorate the anniversary, the Austrian company Pro-Ject has released a special version of the vinyl record player.

Dark Side Of The Moon Turntable by Pro-JectThe Dark Side Of The Moon Turntable is part of the Pro-Ject Artist Series and features distinctive rainbow LED lighting. As the record spins, the refracted light from the iconic album cover is recreated. There is also a dimming function, and the player’s on/off lever functions as a beam of white light. A 10mm thick triangular glass plate reflects the diffusion prism on the album cover. The design is based on a durable aluminum base plate with a bronze bushing.

Dark Side Of The Moon Turntable by Pro-JectOther features of the Dark Side Of The Moon Turntable include an 8.6-inch low-resonance acrylic and black aluminum tonearm with anti-skating springs, a Pick it PRO Special Edition cartridge specifically tuned for the turntable, and an included seven-inch turntable adapter “forty-fives” with the compositions Money and Us And Them.

In addition to The Dark Side Of The Moon player, the Pro-Ject Artist Series line includes the Metallica model, released last year, a turntable dedicated to the group Guns’n’Roses  and the Beatles .

Dark Side Of The Moon Turntable by Pro-JectSince The Dark Side Of The Moon is a limited edition player, the price is quite high at €1,799 . The new product will go on sale until the end of October.
