The YBA Genesis S2 DAC/Streamer runs on a closed Android platform that has been developed over the last 3 years and is constantly updated. It provides access to a range of streaming services, local playback from USB storage, DLNA, Airplay, NAS and even simple Bluetooth streaming. All of this is powered by our Android Global Lossless Output (AGLO) system, which ensures perfect sound quality on Android.

The YBA Genesis S2 features a built-in 1TB NVME SSD. This SSD allows you to easily store music files directly on the streamer, and is also recommended as the main storage when playing music for better sound quality. Files can be copied to the SSD from connected USB drives, and it can also be easily removed from the streamer and connected directly to a computer for faster and more convenient file transfer.

At the heart of the YBA Genesis S2 is a pair of excellent AKM AK4497EQ DACs, combined with high-performance low-pass filtering and proprietary FPGA technology, KDS crystal oscillators and top-of-the-line Panasonic capacitors. All this combines to deliver a truly high-end sound and tune in to the beloved classic YBA sound. Combining a streamer and a Hi-Fi DAC in one device can be a challenge, but YBA has taken steps to limit unwanted interference. The DACs are heavily shielded and isolated from the Android section, and each uses an independent power supply: a UI toroidal transformer for the DAC section and a high-quality switching power supply for the Android section.

Although designed primarily as a DAC for use with an external preamp or integrated amplifier, the YBA Genesis S2 features optional digital volume control on the DAC output, allowing the S2 to be used directly with power amplifiers or active speakers. The streamer also offers a range of digital outputs for use with standalone DACs, with coaxial, optical, AES/EBU or BNC inputs. The YBA Genesis S2 is fully compatible with today’s high-resolution file requirements, supporting PCM playback up to 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512, as well as 8x MQA support for Tidal streaming.

Control is via the bright 6-inch 1080p touchscreen on the front of the unit, or via our Eddict Player app for iOS or Android devices. By turning your phone or tablet into a remote control for local playback or acting as a full-fledged screen mirror, you can access all sections of the YBA Genesis S2 right from the comfort of your couch.
