Since its debut at the Audio Video Show in 2022, the Challenger series from Lithuanian manufacturer Silent Pound has made a strong impression in the high-end audio community. The Challenger, later succeeded by theĀ Challenger IIĀ , is known for its unique constant directivity across the entire frequency range, according to the makers, delivering precise sound reproduction even in acoustically untreated rooms. The 3D soundstage, reduced room resonance and the patented midrange chamber ensure a distinctive listening experience.
According to Silent Pound, the new Bloom offers the same remarkable performance as the Challenger II but in a more compact form. The midrange and high frequencies come from a coaxial driver so that a point source is approximated and phase shifts play little or no role. This coaxial driver gives, according to the makers, a linear frequency response, exceptional power handling and great clarity.
The low tones are provided by a pair of 25 cm diameter woofers mounted in a dipole configuration. This should ensure powerful low frequency performance.
Standard finishes include a white frame with a black inlay in the stand or an all-black model. As with the Challenger II, customization options allow buyers to choose any color for the frame, with an oak option for the inlay.
Pricing information has not yet been announced. More information is likely to come in December. First delivery is scheduled for February 2025.
