OePhi Lounge 2 and Lounge 2.5: Impressive Danish Loudspeakers

OePhi Lounge 2 and Lounge 2.5: Minimalist Design Meets Acoustic Precision
OePhi Lounge 2 and Lounge 2.5: Minimalist Design Meets Acoustic Precision

At the 2025 High End Show in Munich, Danish audio specialist OePhi unveiled its newest loudspeakers, the Lounge 2 and Lounge 2.5. With this launch, the company aims to bring its philosophy of pure, uncolored sound to a broader audience—pairing minimalist Scandinavian aesthetics with cutting-edge acoustic engineering.

The Lounge series includes two models: the Lounge 2, a compact bookshelf speaker designed for smaller listening environments, and the Lounge 2.5, a larger floorstanding model with a 2.5-way configuration. Both speakers are meticulously engineered to deliver a sound that is detailed, balanced, and emotionally engaging.

Founded by Joakim Juhl, a former research fellow at Harvard University, OePhi is driven by a commitment to sonic neutrality. The company’s mission is to eliminate distortion and coloration in order to reproduce what it calls “true sound.” This ethos is fully embodied in the Lounge series, where timing, transparency, and natural tone are given top priority.

To achieve this level of performance, OePhi integrates proprietary technologies across both models. Among these is the Time Compensated XO crossover, which ensures precise phase alignment between drivers for coherent imaging and timing. Also featured is the Transient Integrity Circuitry, designed to preserve the full dynamic range of music while suppressing unwanted electrical noise. The speaker enclosures themselves are constructed with low energy storage materials, reducing internal resonances and maintaining a clean, open soundstage.

OePhi Lounge 2 is a 2-way bookshelf speaker with a frequency range from 45 Hz to 27 kHz.

The Lounge 2 bookshelf speaker features a 2-way design with a frequency response extending from 45 Hz to 27 kHz. It offers a sensitivity of 87 dB and an 8-ohm impedance, and is rated for up to 75 watts of power. Compact in size—just under 14 inches tall and weighing around 14 pounds—it is ideal for discerning listeners in smaller rooms.

Meanwhile, the Lounge 2.5 delivers a more immersive experience with its 2.5-way floorstanding design. It extends bass response down to 35 Hz and offers a higher sensitivity of 89.5 dB with a 6-ohm impedance. Capable of handling up to 150 watts of power, the Lounge 2.5 stands one meter tall and weighs approximately 33 pounds. Its increased scale and output make it suitable for larger rooms and more demanding audio setups.

Both models are offered in a refined selection of finishes, including oak, walnut, black ash, and matte white—each chosen to complement a modern living space as much as a dedicated listening room.

The OePhi Lounge Series is now available in the United States, with the Lounge 2 priced at $3,500 USD per pair and the Lounge 2.5 at $5,800 USD per pair. With their clean design, premium build quality, and focus on sonic integrity, these speakers represent a compelling option for anyone seeking a transparent and emotionally engaging listening experience.
