Monitor Audio Gold 6th gen speakers: The center of advanced technologies

Monitor Audio has unveiled the sixth generation of its Gold Series acoustic systems. The Gold 6 G line builds on over thirty years of Gold Series legacy and features six distinct models. The latest offerings incorporate advanced speaker technologies designed for enhanced diffusion.

HDT (Hexagonal Diaphragm Technology) represents an innovative metal cone technology developed by Monitor Audio, drawing on the expertise gained from the RDT III cones utilized in the premium Hyphn and flagship Platinum 3G Series. This technology incorporates a hexagonal design into the honeycomb structure of the Nomex cone, which consists of an aluminum core sandwiched between carbon fiber layers. The outcome is a cone that elevates the resonant frequency by 10% in comparison to the cone found in the Silver Series 7G.

The Monitor Audio Gold 6G series incorporates HDT technology across all its models, enhancing the performance of the new 3-inch midrange driver, 6-inch midrange woofer, and both 6-inch and 8-inch bass drivers. Additionally, the proprietary C-CAM technology remains integral, reinforcing the cone and reducing its vulnerability to fatigue.

The latest Monitor Audio Gold 6G series incorporates an upgraded version of the MPD III (Micro Pleated Diaphragm) transducer, which is also featured in the Hyphn and Platinum loudspeakers. The manufacturer claims that this driver enhances the expressive reproduction of high frequencies, offering improved clarity and accuracy in sound delivery.

Monitor Audio highlights that the latest Gold 6G series boasts cabinets with enhanced stiffness, while the MPD III tweeter’s elevated placement in the 100 and 500 models effectively reduces cabinet edge diffraction. Additionally, the new finishes include Satin White and G loss Black, complemented by an elegant Ebony Veneer design.

The Monitor Audio Gold 500 6G speaker system, a top-tier three-way floor-standing model, features dual 8-inch bass drivers. In contrast, the smaller Gold 300 6G floor-standing variant is equipped with two 6-inch woofers. Both models incorporate 3-inch midrange drivers. The Monitor Audio Gold 100 6G serves as a three-way bookshelf speaker system, boasting a 3-inch midrange and an 8-inch low-frequency driver. Additionally, the more compact Gold 50 6G bookshelf model is a two-way design that includes a 6-inch midrange/low-frequency driver. Optional ST-2 branded stands are available for purchase at 675 euros. The Monitor Audio Gold 6G series also features the wall-mounted Gold On-Wall 6G model and the compact three-way center channel speaker, Gold C250 6G.
