The McIntosh XCS1.5K center channel speaker system is designed to work with the McIntosh XRT2.1K and XRT1.1K floorstanding speakers. It weighs 80.74kg and has 43 individual speakers capable of delivering 1500W (1.5K in the name).
McIntosh describes the XCS1.5K as a hybrid three- and four-way design. The driver array consists of 25 19mm tweeters, 14 63.5mm aluminum cone midrange drivers and four 200mm carbon fiber woofers housed in a ventilated enclosure measuring 43.66cm x 126.92cm x 53.9cm cm (HxWxD).
Combined with the detailed crossover design, this provides a wider sound field, according to the Binghamton-based brand. Additionally, the speaker has a choice of five preset tilt angles to help you achieve optimal performance for your listening position.
Finishing touches include three sets of McIntosh Solid Cinch mounts for two- or three-wire connections, a removable black knit fabric speaker grille, and no less than seven coats of gloss black paint.
